Plantient exhibition

Plantient is an interactive installation and perofrmance setting that brings living plants, AI dance, and human touch into a shared choreographic encounter. Electrical signals captured through sensors attached to plants are translated into changes in the movement of digital avatars, shaping the unfolding dance in real time.

Visitors are invited to engage directly with the plants by gently touching their leaves or stems. This contact alters the plants’ bioelectrical activity, which is immediately translated into changes in the avatars’ movement, rhythm, and intensity. In this way, the audience becomes an active participant in shaping the dance, not by controlling it directly, but by entering into a responsive relationship with the living organisms.

Conceived as a “plant-cyborg,” the avatar gives these encounters a visible, moving form. Through this hybrid figure, Plantient explores vegetal agency and asks how dance can make us attentive to other forms of life. Movement becomes a way of sensing connections and reflecting on how agency is distributed among living organisms and technological systems.
